Thanks to existing savings, guaranteed loans, and generous early commitments from members, the roof renovations is completed and renovation have already begun in the Bleu Room, sanctuary, convent, and rectory. Reimbursement grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for physical security enhancements, replacement of windows, and doors can begin immediately. We have cost estimates from Harvey Construction, and they have agreed to renovate in phases.

We anticipate that maintenance costs will stay the same or fall, as more energy-efficient buildings reduce utility bills. Our operating budget is in a healthy place, so we do not expect this project to place undue strain on GBC finances.

The intent of the Board and church leadership is to ensure we remain fiscally responsible with the funds God has given us. We will prioritize critical renovation projects to ensure safety and functionality. If we are unable to raise the funds needed, the Board will inform the congregation and determine how to remain fiscally responsible.
